Then, take time to prayerfully consider your calling and commitment to this ministry. You may like to observe an RI class across different grades and schools as part of making an informed choice.

DISCUSS REPRESENTATION

The legislation requires that your church pastor authorise your RI involvement. Discuss your ministry intentions, request your Blue Card be linked to the church, and fulfil any church-specific requirements such as Kid Safe training. Once you've satisfied these requirements, contact us to begin the next phase - your training and accreditation.

TRAINING FOR A UNIQUE CONTEXT

Gospel ministry in Queensland public schools requires a customised training program that addresses the specific compliance requirements of this setting. Our training aligns with Department of Education guidelines and focuses on delivering age-appropriate, church-approved content. Volunteers are discipled to communicate the gospel clearly and confidently, while ensuring the ministry is protected from scrutiny.

Religious Instructors don’t need prior teaching experience, but they do need to be clear about their calling. We are entrusted with sharing the Word of God with children whose parents have requested Christian faith education. It takes integrity to consistently invest effort over time; to persevere when disruptions inevitably come.

As we serve in schools without personal gain or direct connection - building trusting relationships with students -our presence becomes a living witness to Christ’s love and care within the school community. It’s a profound privilege—one that highlights why our commitment to serving them matters so deeply.

This is why its vital to prayerfully consider God's calling upon your life. It's between you and Him.

Importantly, we are not training professional teachers. We are equipping Christians with practical tools to be effective ministers of the gospel in a secular context. Whether you’re a career teacher, a parent, a kids’ church leader, or someone who’s never stepped into a classroom, our program is supportive and achievable.

You won’t be asked to deliver lessons until you’re confident and capable—we walk with you every step of the way. This is the heart of our organisation: standing shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow Christians, discipling and encouraging one another to fulfil this shared calling.

We believe prayer is powerful—shielding the RI ministry and opening new doors to share God’s love in more schools. We invite faith-filled intercessors to subscribe to our fortnightly Prayer & Praise newsletter to unite in prayer for specific prayer needs.

Your prayers have brought breakthroughs and blessings over the years. Let’s keep standing together in faith.

HOW THE PRAYER NETWORK WORKS:
  • Newsletters unify our prayer efforts and gratitude for answers received.
  • Prayer partners are invited to our annual prayer and fasting day on retreat held at the beginning of each year.
  • Coffee catch-ups are occasionally held to gather prayer partners with RI volunteers across the Coast.
  • Simply submit your details on this page and our Prayer Liaison, Rob Ross, will call you. Then you'll be added to the prayer distribution list.
