Protecting the Right to Faith Education

Queensland legislation gives parents the right to have their children learn about faith during curriculum time. CREP-SC exists to protect and support this right by equipping Christian RI instructors through comprehensive, mission-focused training.

CREP-SC Training Framework

Core Purpose:

To train and support RI instructors on behalf of churches in the Sunshine Coast Christian RI Faith Cooperative.


1. New Volunteers

  • Training: 8 hours theory (4 × 2-hour sessions)
  • Mentoring: In-field support (collaborative planning & teaching)
  • Goal: Build confidence and competence to teach independently


2. Experienced Instructors

  • Requirement: Attend one of two annual corporate training sessions (4 hours)
  • Purpose: Maintain skills, share best practices, meet Form 1 requirements


3. Foundations Refresher Course

  • Duration: 1.5–2 hours (online)
  • Review Cycle: Every 3 years
  • Topics Covered:
    1. Queensland Education Act & RI policy
    2. RI roles and relationships
    3. Form 1 & Form 2 functions
    4. School obligations to parents
    5. Confidentiality & use of Christian materials
