COMPLIANCE

All Religious Instructors (RI) and Classroom Helpers in Queensland are required to be aware of the legislation governing RI and to act in compliance with the law, its regulations and policies.

We developed an online questionnaire as a safeguard measure to help fulfil this commitment. It is designed specifically for accredited volunteers to complete every three years, and for volunteers returning to the ministry after an absence of three or more years to refresh their knowledge and meet compliance. 

Although schools are responsible for inducting volunteers with regard to Department of Education guidelines, our experience shows this doesn’t always happen for RI volunteers. We are committed to equipping our network to be compliant, confident, and effective in their roles. The assessment includes questions pertaining to those guidelines. 

NB. This resource does not replace a school's obligation to provide appropriate inductions.

Our RI Volunteer Community

Our large RI volunteer network on the Sunshine Coast is a wonderfully supportive community. It a place of great encouragement, and a forum where you can constantly learn from one another and share best practice. We have regular training and meetings throughout the year to stay connected.
