Blue Card Process

Step 1. Watch this Youtube video: How to register for an online account
Visit https://my.bluecard.qld.gov.au and click ‘Register for an online account’. This process will take approximately 5 minutes and is only done once. You will need to use a Dept. of Transport and Main Roads issued ID or Customer Reference Number as proof of identity. (Drivers License etc.)

Step 2. Watch this Youtube video: How to apply for a blue card as a student or volunteer
Once registration is completed you will be issued with an account number which you will receive via email and it will be displayed on the screen. Your church will need a copy of this account number to link you to their account as a volunteer. Please contact your church to ask about their process.

Step 3. Bluecard services will email you to confirm that your account has been linked to your church. Once received, you are ready to complete your Bluecard application. Visit https://my.bluecard.qld.gov.au again and login. From the Applicant Portal home screen, click ‘Apply for a blue card’, and follow the prompts. The category of child-related work is volunteer. From here, most of the application is prefilled for you. The remaining information should take you less than 5 minutes to complete.

Step 4. Bluecard Services then assesses your application. Once completed you will receive an email confirming your Bluecard has been approved, and it will be sent to your postal address.
