MAST (Mandatory All-Staff Training) is only required once per calendar year, regardless of how many schools you enter.
Each school may have its own MAST process, but once you've completed it and can show your signed declaration along with your Blue Card, that usually suffices.
Some schools may still wish to briefly cover site-specific instructions, such as fire drills or lockdown procedures.
A typical MAST induction takes about one hour and includes key RI-related policies, such as confidentiality.
A separate "key messages guide" is used for contractors, volunteers, and visitors. The 2025 version of this guide is linked as a downloadable .pdf here
After completing the induction:
Sign the final page of the MAST document in the presence of a Deputy Principal or admin delegate.
Fold and keep this signed declaration in your lanyard with your Blue Card for easy access when entering schools.
