MANDATORY ALL-STAFF TRAINING

MAST

  • MAST (Mandatory All-Staff Training) is only required once per calendar year, regardless of how many schools you enter.
  • Each school may have its own MAST process, but once you've completed it and can show your signed declaration along with your Blue Card, that usually suffices.
  • Some schools may still wish to briefly cover site-specific instructions, such as fire drills or lockdown procedures.
  • A typical MAST induction takes about one hour and includes key RI-related policies, such as confidentiality.
  • A separate "key messages guide" is used for contractors, volunteers, and visitors. The 2025 version of this guide is linked as a downloadable .pdf here
  • After completing the induction:
    • Sign the final page of the MAST document in the presence of a Deputy Principal or admin delegate.
    • Fold and keep this signed declaration in your lanyard with your Blue Card for easy access when entering schools.
